Wednesday 22 October WHO EPI-WIN Webinar: a framework for Civil Society Organization engagement for public health emergencies
Civil society organizations (CSOs) are pivotal partners in development and are among the first responders to emergencies, reaching the most vulnerable and often, in areas where governments have no or very limited access. They are also often trusted by communities they represent. A Framework for Civil Society Engagement in Health Emergencies was developed to enhance inclusive community-centered decision-making, planning and implementation along with shared, all-partner accountability for efficient emergency prevention, preparedness, readiness, response, recovery and resilience.
The objective of this webinar from 13:00 – 14:30 CEST is to introduce the framework and the 10 steps and share experiences of the critical role of CSOs and their successful engagement in health emergencies.

World Polio Day
Thanks to collective global action, polio cases have fallen by more than 99% since 1988, when WHO Member States established the Global Polio Eradication Initiative. What was once a disease that paralyzed over 350,000 children every year is now on the brink of eradication. World Polio Day is an opportunity for public and civil society to raise awareness of the urgent need to achieve a polio-free world once and for all.
