Nuit Blanche Toronto returns this Saturday with an all-night journey to “Translate the city through art”
Toronto’s free all-night contemporary art event, Nuit Blanche Toronto, returns for its 19th edition tomorrow. This year’s theme, Translating the City, highlights Toronto’s multilingual character and explores the many languages – spoken, written, visual, gestural, sonic and emotional – that shape how urban life is understood and expressed.
Through art, Nuit Blanche invites audiences to translate the complexities of cities, reconsider their roles within them and reimagine the possibilities they hold.
Date: Saturday, October 4 to Sunday, October 5
Time: 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Location: Various locations throughout Toronto
Note: Media are invited to Toronto City Hall on Thursday, October 2 at 4 p.m. for the installation of Protect the Sacred Voice by Demian DinéYazhiʼ.
Charlene K. Lau, Downtown Exhibition curator and Jeanne Holmes, Programming Manager, City Cultural Events will be available for interviews.
Media passes will also be available for collection at this time.
Additional information about the event including a complete list of installations and locations is available on the City’s Nuit Blanche website: Toronto.ca/NuitBlanche.
