We want to keep the stories in our collections safe. Stories that help people make sense of the past and present. To find answers to today’s challenges.  
Today we’re launching the 2025 conservation appeal ( https://britishlibraryemails.bl.uk/c/AQiz6A8QsPKAARjpn7sFIJH-3B2X6KjKINlUVRW5ZDm-jZFQiBZmLfNNlAUDy5WEeLQong ) to raise £50,000 to fund this vital work.
Your support could help us care for the knowledge held in our collections, from scrolls saved from Herculaneum after the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 CE to a 14th century charter issued by Edward III.
The first £15,000 raised will be matched by our generous match funders. £100 could support the care of a beautifully illuminated 14th century charter issued by Edward III, previously unknown to researchers.
