KONE Corporation, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, will
equip railway stations on the new railway line connecting the cities of Ningbo
and Xiangshan. The railway is planned to improve transportation between the two
cities. It will be approximately 60 kilometers long and have ten stations. Once
opened, the railway is expected to bring in around 1.2 million more tourists to
the region every year.
“The Ningbo-Xiangshan railway is a great step towards smoother travel and city
development. It will help improve daily lives of numerous people and boost
tourism,” says Joe Bao, KONE’s Executive Vice President for the Greater China
region. “We are proud to be part of China’s growing rail network and help make
transportation safer and more convenient for everyone.”
The delivery comprises 16 MonoSpace® and 11 MiniSpace™ elevators and 90
TransitMaster™ escalators. It also includes a maintenance contract of eight
years.
The main developer is Ningbo Line Twelve Suburban Railway Development Co., Ltd.
KONE booked the order in Q2 of 2025.
