** PRIMO PODIO MONDIALE PER JESPERSEN, ALTHEA RACING TORNA SUL PODIO E SFIORA LA DOPPIETTA A BALATON

Il nuovo tracciato di Balaton ha regalato un fine settimana ricco di emozioni al team Ecosantagata Althea Racing, che celebra il primo podio nel Campionato Mondiale Supersport per Simon Jespersen e sfiora una clamorosa doppietta in gara 2. Entrambi i piloti si sono dimostrati competitivi per tutto il weekend, lavorando con costanza e costruendo la performance giorno dopo giorno fino al grande risultato della domenica. Jespersen ha chiuso gara 1 in sesta posizione dopo una corsa solida in rimonta dalla decima casella, ma è in gara 2 che ha brillato davvero: partito settimo, ha avuto uno start perfetto e si è portato in testa nelle fasi iniziali, dettando il ritmo con autorità. Dopo una lunga battaglia con i protagonisti del campionato, ha chiuso in seconda posizione, conquistando così il suo primo podio mondiale e regalando ad Althea Racing il primo grande risultato stagionale. Prestazione eccellente anche per Leonardo Taccini, che domenica ha sfiorato il colpaccio: scattato dalla dodicesima
posizione, è stato autore di una partenza eccezionale che lo ha portato nella top five già alla prima curva, mantenendosi nel gruppo dei primi fino a metà gara. Purtroppo, un contatto con un altro concorrente ha interrotto prematuramente la sua corsa, proprio mentre stava lottando per le posizioni da podio. In gara 1, Taccini aveva chiuso sedicesimo a causa di un problema alla gomma anteriore che lo ha limitato per tutta la gara. Un weekend che, al netto dell’amaro finale, ha confermato la crescita costante della squadra e dei suoi due piloti, entrambi protagonisti in pista.
Il prossimo appuntamento per il team Ecosantagata Althea Racing sarà a Magny-Cours dal 5 al 7 settembre, con l’obiettivo di confermare i progressi mostrati e continuare a lottare per le posizioni di vertice nel Mondiale Supersport.
The brand new Balaton circuit delivered an emotional weekend for the Ecosantagata Althea Racing Team, highlighted by Simon Jespersen’s first-ever podium in the FIM Supersport World Championship, and a near double podium in Race 2. Both riders showed strong pace throughout the weekend, working consistently and building performance session after session until it all came together on Sunday. Jespersen finished Race 1 in sixth place after a solid comeback from tenth on the grid, but it was in Race 2 that he truly shone: starting from seventh, he got off to a perfect launch and took the lead in the early laps, setting the pace with confidence. After a fierce battle with the championship front-runners, he crossed the line in second place, earning the best result of his career and delivering Althea Racing its first major highlight of the season. An excellent performance also from Leonardo Taccini, who came close to an outstanding result on Sunday: starting twelfth, he pulled off an incredible
start to slot into the top five already at Turn 1, and remained with the leading group until the race’s midpoint. Unfortunately, a collision with another rider ended his run prematurely, just as he was fighting for podium positions. In Race 1, Taccini had finished sixteenth due to a front tyre issue that limited his pace throughout the race. Despite the bittersweet ending, the weekend confirmed the team’s steady progress and the competitiveness of both its riders, who were key players on track.
The next round for the Ecosantagata Althea Racing Team will take place at Magny-Cours from September 5–7, with the goal of building on this momentum and continuing to fight for top positions in the World Supersport Championship.
“In gara 1 ho avuto un problema con la gomma anteriore che mi ha impedito di spingere come volevo, ma in gara 2 è stato tutto diverso. Sono partito benissimo e mi sono ritrovato subito con il gruppo di testa, avevo il passo per stare lì e lottare per il podio. Purtroppo il contatto ha rovinato tutto, ma ci tengo a ringraziare il team per il grande lavoro. Siamo cresciuti tanto e a Magny-Cours voglio riprendermi quello che oggi è sfuggito.”
“In Race 1 I had an issue with the front tyre that prevented me from pushing the way I wanted, but Race 2 was a completely different story. I got a great start and immediately found myself in the leading group — I had the pace to stay there and fight for the podium. Unfortunately, the contact ruined everything, but I want to thank the team for the great work. We’ve made a lot of progress, and at Magny-Cours I want to take back what slipped away from us today.”
