Taoiseach opens the DPC’s new headquarters in Dublin
The Data Protection Commission (DPC) was delighted to invite Taoiseach Micheál Martin, TD and Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, Jim O’Callaghan, TD, to the opening of its new headquarters in Dublin earlier today.
The building project was commenced by the Office of Public Works in May 2023, and has brought together all of the DPC’s Dublin-based staff into one office. This new headquarters provides staff with a greatly improved, modern, and collaborative work environment, one that will support the vital work that the DPC does both in Ireland and across the EU.
Speaking at this morning’s opening, Commissioner Des Hogan remarked “Today is a special moment in the history of the Data Protection Commission. I’d like to pay particular tribute to both the DPC and Office of Public Works teams who along with the Department of Justice IT team worked on this project to deliver a great new home for us. As the DPC continues to play a leading role in European data protection, this new home will help us meet that responsibility with confidence and ambition.”
Commissioner Dale Sunderland said “We’re deeply honoured to have our new building officially opened today by the Taoiseach. This building isn’t just a new space—it’s a reflection of how far the DPC has grown and developed as an organisation. A decade ago, we were fewer than 50 people. Now, we’re 275 strong and continuing to grow.”
