The City’s Department of Utilities is inviting residents to visit its drought-tolerant garden on May 3 to learn more about California native plants and water-efficient landscaping.The garden at 1395 35th Avenue will be open from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the garden and see nearly 30 varieties of California native plants, as well as purchase plants from a mobile plant nursery on site.
Utilities staff will also be available to answer questions about the City’s water conservation rebates and share insights into how the garden was designed to support water-efficient landscaping.The event is part of the California Native Plant Society’s Gardens Gone Native Plant Tour, which is a free self-guided tour highlighting dozens of gardens that feature California native plants in the Sacramento region.
