** U.S. Bitcoin ATM count drops despite ‘pro-crypto presidency’
————————————————————
Despite a pro-crypto White House and promises to end “regulation by enforcement,” new data reveals a surprising trend: Bitcoin ATM numbers in the U.S. are on the decline.
Meanwhile, global figures tell a different story: Bitcoin ATMs worldwide grew by 279, bringing the total to 38,001 by the end of Q1.
“While the drop in the U.S. may seem small in isolation, it contrasts sharply with growth in every other major region, signaling that crypto ATM infrastructure in the U.S. is losing ground at a time when other countries are building momentum,” said Jordan Major and Diana Paluteder, co-authors of the research.
Breakdown by Region:
· Europe added 86 Bitcoin ATMs, rising from 1,652 to 1,738;
· Australia posted one of the biggest gains, up 272 machines—a 20% increase;
· Canada added 122, increasing its total to 3,498.
The findings raise critical questions about the state of crypto infrastructure in the U.S., especially in light of the administration’s vocal support for digital assets.
