The press conference with rapporteur Andrzej Halicki (EPP, PL) scheduled on Wednesday at 14.00 CET following the vote on Parliament’s guidelines for the 2026 EU budget has been cancelled.
Background*
On Wednesday, Parliament will vote on its guidelines for next year’s budget. MEPs debated the topic on Monday. The draft guidelines [3] put the focus on strategic preparedness and security, economic competitiveness and resilience, sustainability, climate, and the single market. The guidelines kick-start the annual EU budget procedure on the Parliament’s side, and feed into the Commission’s 2026 budget proposal, set to be unveiled in June 2025.
