
PRESS STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 10 February 2025 CUT expands partnerships at Welkom Campus with three Lejweleputswa District educational stakeholders The Central University of Technology,Free State (CUT) together with the Lejweleputswa Education District,Goldfields TVET College and St. Dominic’s College officialised their commitment to long-anticipated collaborations through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony. The signing,which took place at the CUT Welkom Campus,contained specific terms of agreement between the university and its three new educational partners,respectively. Goldfields Technical Vocational Education and Training College The agreement focused on the shared objectives of advancing educational opportunities,enhancing skills development,and fostering socio-economic growth within the community. The parties seek to establish a collaborative partnership that outlines the framework for cooperation and mutual support in areas of academic programs,research initiatives,student and staff exchange,and community development projects. Lejweleputswa Education District The agreement entered between the Central University of Technology,Free State (CUT),and the Lejweleputswa Education District focused on recognising the shared commitment to educational excellence,community development,and the advancement of skills in the Lejweleputswa Region. Both parties seek to establish a collaborative relationship,learning opportunities,foster innovation,and empower both learners and educators. This partnership is also grounded in the mutual belief that through joint initiatives,resource sharing,and strategic support,they can make a positive and lasting impact on educational outcomes and the local community. St Dominic’s College The agreement aims to strengthen the relationship between both institutions by providing mutual benefits,including discounted tuition for CUT staff who wish to enrol their children in the St. Dominic’s Pre-School and offering the best Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) trainee teacher’s contract.
