CUT Microsoft Digital Literacy Programme awards certificates
In 2022, the Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT) launched the Microsoft Digital Literacy Programme, which provides participants with essential digital skills and knowledge, particularly in using Microsoft technologies. This programme has proven to be effective in empowering youth and enhancing their digital skills, making it a reliable choice for those seeking to improve their employment prospects.
This community engagement project offers free Microsoft digital literacy and specialised technology courses to Free State Youth and individuals aged 15 and above. With 676 participants trained this year, the programme is an ongoing endeavour, with quarterly training sessions planned throughout the year. The next cohort, is set to commence their first face-to-face training session on 25 May 2024, aiming to include 1000 participants from this new financial year.
“This digital literacy initiative is specifically tailored for young people in the province, regardless of whether they have a Matric qualification. Our primary goal is to empower them and community members who are enthusiastic about enhancing their digital skills and employment prospects. Engaging in our program enables them to anticipate a brighter future with many new opportunities”, said Teboho Dintwe, FabLab Officer.
