Here are three reasons to attend the Highwater Jamboree, which is expected to be the largest flood preparedness event in the region:1. See and touch big equipmentAttendees will be able to interact with flood-fighting equipment — including the “Claw” and other heavy machinery — as well as Police and Fire rescue vehicles. A Sacramento Sheriff helicopter will also make a landing and takeoff.2. Learn how to prepare for storm and flood eventsStaff at vendors booths and Interactive learning stations from a variety of agencies will be providing demonstrations, education and resources on storm and flood preparation in Sacramento. Free giveaways will be provided as well. 3.  Bring your family, friends and a petThe event is free, open to families and pets, and will feature several food trucks. The Highwater Jamboree will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at North Natomas Regional Park (2501 New Market Dr.)
