WHO Hybrid Press Conference
The second high-level interregional meeting on the health of refugees and migrants

What:
The WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean would like to invite you to virtually participate in a press conference due to take place during the second high-level interregional meeting on the health of refugees and migrants. The meeting is organized by WHO/EMRO in coordination with the Regional Offices for Africa and Europe, with support from the WHO’s Health and Migration Programme. It will focus on ways to ensure that refugees and migrants across the migration route have equitable access to health care in line with universal health coverage (UHC) and continuity of care.
The meeting will continue the discussion on strengthening cooperation and promoting a whole-of-route approach that allows the African, Eastern Mediterranean and European Regions of World Health Organization to partner together around five action pillars to promote the health and wellbeing of refugees and migrants that were agreed upon at the first high level meeting that took place in March 2022, Istanbul, Türkiye.

Where: The press conference will physically take place in the Four Seasons Resort, Sharm El-Sheikh, but will also be streamed for remote journalists and participants through Zoom, with simultaneous interpretation provided between Arabic and English.
