New Date Announced for Inquest into the Death of Brennan Nicholas

Dr. Paul Dungey, Regional Supervising Coroner for East Region, Kingston Office, has announced a new date for the inquest into the death of Brennan Nicholas.
Mr. Nicholas, 24, died on June 15, 2018, while in custody at the Millhaven Regional Treatment Centre. An inquest into his death is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the events surrounding the death of Mr. Nicholas. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths in similar circumstances.
The inquest is expected to last 10 days and will hear from approximately 17 witnesses.
The inquest will start at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, February 27, 2023. Dr. Robert Reddoch will preside as inquest officer. Kate Forget and Christina Varrette will be inquest counsel.
