How Art Can Encourage Conscious, Sustainable Living.

The purpose of art is to encourage reflection, prick our conscience, and generate knowledge. Therefore, art is the vehicle to explore urgent issues that are part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development—adopted by the UN’s 193 member states in 2015—in a new art history course, Art Effect. Four online lectures, curated by Professor Alessandra Montalbetti, will examine how artists and their works of art engage with issues such as climate change, peace, justice, reducing inequalities, and sustainable development.

Jewish Mysticism in the Work of Victor Brauner

The museum joins the program promoted by the City of Venice on International Holocaust Remembrance Day 2023 with a talk about the Jewish Surrealist artist Victor Brauner, who was forced to flee and live in hiding to survive during World War II. The talk is free with the museum admission ticket.

Double Meaning: Tactile Tours of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection

The tactile tour program for visitors with visual disabilities continues in 2023. Participants can take part in a tactile tour followed by a workshop led by blind artist Felice Tagliaferri. Furthermore, a tactile catalogue is always available, free of charge, at the museum’s ticket desk. Double Meaning is made possible with the support of Florim.
