An encyclopaedia of world history
Be sure not to miss the reproduction of the largest known world map from the Middle Ages, the Ebstorf map. Originally produced in c.1300, the map represented the world as the body of Christ and acted as an encyclopaedia of world history. It was destroyed in 1943. With over 2,000 entries featuring real places, biblical locations and mythical events or lands, 17 of them explicitly relate to Alexander the Great and his mythical quest.
We have also collaborated with Escape Studios’ School of Interactive and Real Time to create a 3D interactive version of the map.
