The award ceremony for this year’s Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought, conferred upon the brave people of Ukraine, will be held on 14 December at noon.
Journalists can express their interest in conducting interviews with the representatives of the Ukrainian people who are expected to be present at the award ceremony in the European Parliament in Strasbourg, by registering via [this EU survey link](https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/SakharovPrize2022) by Wednesday 7 December at 12.00 CET at the latest.
The representatives are the following:
– Oleksandra Matviychuk, human rights lawyer and Chair of the [Center for Civil Liberties](https://ccl.org.ua/en/);
– Ivan Fedorov, the mayor of the Ukrainian city of Melitopol, which is currently under Russian occupation;
– Yaroslav Bozhko, Spokesperson of the Yellow Ribbon Civil Resistance Movement;
– Yulia Pajevska, founder of the medical evacuation unit Angels of Taira.
Please note that making a request does not guarantee you will be granted an interview. You will receive confirmation of whether or not you have been given an interview slot only on Friday 9 December, not earlier.
Interviews slots are foreseen for Tuesday 13 December and Wednesday 14 December.
