This week we’ve information about managing work-related violence. This includes links to a toolkit with resources and practical advice. There is also guidance on making sure you are reducing the risk of electrical injury in the workplace.

HSE defines work-related violence as any incident in which a person is abused, threatened or assaulted in circumstances relating to their work.
This can include verbal abuse or threats, as well as physical attacks.

The company has been fined £27,000 following the incident.
The worker fell 2.5 metres through the gap created by the gantry removal. He fell onto a cherry picker, suffering fractured ribs and internal injuries.
HSE’s investigation discovered the company had failed to properly plan, co-ordinate and supervise the work, including the removal of the gantry floor.

World Mental Health Day is on Monday 10 October and the theme this year is making mental health and wellbeing for all a global priority.
HSE’s statistics show that 822,000 workers suffered from stress, depression and anxiety in 2020/21.
