PRESS RELEASE
FOUR-PARTY CONFERENCE (G4), AT THE COESPU IN VICENZA:
CYBER TRAINING IS A SHARED OBJECTIVE
The Centre of Excellence for Stability Police Units (CoESPU) in Vicenza is currently hosting the summit conference (G4) of the European gendarmeries and police forces with military status, including the Italian Arma dei Carabinieri, the French Gendarmerie Nationale, the Spanish Guardia Civil and the Portuguese Guarda Nacional Republicana.
After common objectives in the areas of joint training and environmental protection were outlined, important agreements were reached on the exchange of good practices in the cyber sphere. The fields of technology and the virtual world no longer represent the future but are instead a current challenge, making it necessary to keep up with the times and ensure institutional solidity and security.
As part of international cooperation, the police force leaders meeting in Vicenza agreed on a joint enhancement of public-private partnership and cyber training, also through periodic meetings of experts and participation in European projects, with the promotion of a virtual world proximity model.
In order to achieve the objectives set, proposals have been drawn up to improve operational communication through training, joint research and development projects as well as in cross-cutting areas such as the metaverse. Collaboration between the four European gendarmeries and police forces with military status will be important, in order to select and promote young talents thus paving the way for a constant discovery of the virtual world.
