Gara2 a Most non è di quelle da festeggiare per Althea Racing e Federico Caricasulo, apparso in difficoltà già a partire dalla prima fase di gara per via di uno scarso feeling con l’anteriore e per i postumi dell’incidente di ieri. Le premesse delle qualifiche e dell’ottima partenza di gara1 (prima di essere colpito da Oncu) non hanno quindi potuto trovare un lieto fine, nonostante Federico abbia comunque ottenuto un piazzamento di qualità e punti utili per la classifica. Le aspettative guardano ora a Magny Cours, a settembre, dopo la pausa. Vedremo se insieme ai miglioramenti già visti sulla moto, arriverà anche una prova di carattere che consenta di salire finalmente sul podio.

The conditions of the qualifications and the excellent start of race 1 (before being hit by Oncu) therefore could not find a happy ending, despite Federico having obtained a quality placement and useful points for the standing. Expectations now look to Magny Cours, in September, after the break. We will see if, together with the improvements already seen on the bike, there will also be a proof of character that allows us to finally get on the podium.
Mi aspettavo onestamente qualcosa di più.
Sicuramente ci è mancata la gara di ieri soprattutto come raccolta dati ed ha inciso parecchio. Probabilmente quella di oggi sarebbe stata la gara che avremmo dovuto fare ieri per fare qualcosa di meglio oggi dopo aver raccolto dati importanti, esattamente come hanno fatto inostri avversari.
A parte quello, sono partito bene ma poi mi sono trovato al limite e non sono riuscito a stare con gli altri. Non sentivo bene il davanti oggi ed ero un po’ sulle uova nonostante spingessi tanto. Ho fatto due errori che mi sono costati cari perché ho perso parecchio tempo. Era un week end in cui raccogliere di più, dato che sono stato molto veloce in prova. Dobbiamo lavorare per provare a far qualcosa di meglio a Magny Cours.
I was honestly expecting something more.
Surely we missed yesterday’s race especially in terms of data collection and it affected a lot. Probably today would have been the race we should have done yesterday to do something better today after having collected important data, exactly as our opponents did.
Apart from that, I had a good start but then I found myself at the limit and I was unable to stay with the others. I didn’t feel good with the front today and It was like “riding on eggs” despite pushing hard. I made two mistakes that cost me a lot because I lost a time. It was a weekend in which to collect more, as I was very fast in practice. We have to work to try and do something better at Magny Cours.
E’ evidente che Federico ha sofferto molto perché non l’ho visto all’altezza di poter competere e rispondere agli attacchi degli avversari. Mi è sembrato anche leggermente rinunciatario e credo sia dovuto ai postumi dell’incidente di ieri.
E’ evidente, almeno per me, anche se Federico non cerca scuse, che le condizioni fisiche abbiano falsato la sua gara ed è un peccato trovarci costretti a rimandare il podio ancora una volta. Sono infastidito; mi dispiace per lui e per la squadra. Per lui perché aveva trovato un ottimo feeling e per la squadra perché aveva preparato una moto in grado di giocarsela alla pari con tutti. Le gare sono fatte così, lo sappiamo. Non resta quindi che riprovarci.
It is clear that Federico suffered a lot because I didn’t see him up to being able to compete and respond to the attacks of his opponents. It also seemed a bit renouncing to me and I think it is due to the after-effects of yesterday’s accident.
It is evident, at least for me, even if Federico is not looking for excuses, that the physical conditions have distorted his race and it is a shame to find ourselves forced to postpone the podium once again. I am annoyed; I’m sorry for him and for the team. For him because he had found an excellent feeling and for the team because the guys had prepared a bike capable of competing on an equal level with everyone. This is racing, we know it. All that remains is to keep trying.
