The Library of Congress is accepting applications for Research Assistant, GS-5,7 until June 27, 2022.
The Federal Research Division (FRD) has provided fee-based research and analysis services to U.S. Government agencies and programs since 1948, drawing on the vast resources available through the Library and other sources. FRD has a long-established reputation for utilizing a full range of primary materials, data, scholarly works, and other sources to provide impartial and comprehensive analysis across a broad spectrum of sensitive and non-sensitive domestic and international concerns.
Housed within the Library of Congress, FRD operates without appropriated funds on a cost-recovery basis. Maintaining objectivity and independence from business or political concerns is a critical aspect of mission integrity, allowing the division to work effectively across federal agencies and program offices.
The Research Assistant position includes two main duties: (1) Conducting quality assurance for the U.S. Copyright modernization initiative, and (2) Assisting senior researchers with various projects in support of federal agencies, such as Department of Defense, Small Business Administration, and Department of Transportation.
