This week’s edition contains advice for shift workers and highlights the risks of worker fatigue.
In addition, we highlight the recent changes to personal protective equipment at work regulations, and have information on a link-up with Make UK as part of HSE’s Working Minds campaign. We also have news of recent enforcement prosecutions and links to our latest job vacancies.
Last month the Personal Protective Equipment at Work (Amendment) Regulations 2022 (PPER 2022) came into force. They amend the 1992 Regulations (PPER 1992).
If PPE is required, employers must ensure their workers have sufficient information, instruction and training on the use of PPE.

The company has been fined £180,000 for safety breaches after a farm worker was run over and fatally wounded.
The worker was struck by a reversing telescopic materials handler vehicle (telehandler) at the farm. She was seriously injured and air-lifted to Hull Royal Infirmary but died later that day.
