Helga Pedersen Moot Court Competition
The competition simulates the procedure of complaints to the ECHR in a fictitious case regarding legal issues related to natural disasters and environmental protection. The best teams in the Finals Oral Round will examine the causes of the natural disaster – the flooding, the consequences, and the actions of the fictional state to mitigate such impacts for its inhabitants. And most importantly, the teams will raise and try to answer the central question of the case – whether, in the totality of the fictional circumstances, human rights and the fundamental principles associated with them were violated or not.
