Conference on “Inter-religious dialogue on religion and peace, religion and human rights”
Key-note address will be delivered by Heiner Bielefeldt, Professor at University of Erlangen and former United Nations Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion or Belief.
Concluding remarks will be provided by Dr. Fabio Petito, Director of FoRB & Foreign Policy Initiative (University of Sussex), on behalf of the Italian Presidency.
Opening remarks and conclusions are open to the media.
European Conference of Prosecutors in Palermo
Final session, will be chaired by Giovanni Salvi in Aula Bunker, at the presence of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, with the commemoration of judges Giovanni Falcone, Francesca Morvillo and Paolo Borsellino. Interventions by President of Palermo Court of Appeal Matteo Frasca, Prosecutor General of Palermo Court of Appeal Lia Sava, Interior Minister Luciana Lamorgese, Justice Minister Marta Cartabia and Vice-President of the High Council of the Judiciary David Ermini are part of the agenda. Final statements will be pronounced by Under-Secretary Benedetto Della Vedova and by Secretary General Marija Pej?inovi? Buri?.
Press briefing: international conference and opening for signature of the 2nd Additional Protocol to the Convention on Cybercrime (Budapest Convention)
6 May, Strasbourg and online (9.30 a.m.) – Following almost four years of negotiations (September 2017 – May 2021) and formal approval on 17 November 2021, the 2nd Additional Protocol to the Convention on Cybercrime will be opened for signature at the Council of Europe on 12 May, in the framework of an international conference on enhanced co-operation and disclosure of electronic evidence (12-13 May).
Alexander Seger, Head of Cybercrime, will present the Council of Europe’s current action against cybercrime, the programme of the conference and give an update on the new protocol and upcoming challenges.

During the meeting the need for the protection of women, unaccompanied and separated children, children and the elderly from abuse, exploitation and human trafficking was particularly underlined. The Special Representative will explore how best the Council of Europe can offer its expertise to both countries. She will visit centres hosting refugees and will have meetings with representatives of the authorities, of relevant international organisations as well as of NGOs.
3 May, Strasbourg – The European Court of Human Rights will notify in writing 12 judgments concerning Armenia, Bulgaria, Romania, Russia and Turkey.
The delegation will meet the Minister of the Interior and Housing, the President of the Supreme Court, members of the Parliament, representatives of the Ministry of Finance and of the Parliamentary Ombudsman, local authorities in Copenhagen, Vejle and Nyborg, members of the national associations Local Government Denmark (LGDK) and Danish Regions, as well as members of the Danish national delegation to the Congress.
5 May, Strasbourg – The European Court of Human Rights will notify in writing 63 judgments and/or decisions concerning Armenia, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Malta, Republic of Moldova, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia and Turkey.
Verena Taylor, Director of the Office of the Directorate General of Programmes of the Council of Europe, Emanuele Giaufret, Head of the European Union Delegation to Serbia and Gordana ?omi?, Minister for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue of Serbia will give introductory remarks. The event will be moderated by Tobias Flessenkemper, Head of the Council of Europe Office in Belgrade. No-hate ambassadors, including Young European Ambassadors, will join the launch.
Open to media, the event will begin at 10 a.m. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided.
