Althea and Caricasulo rediscovering Ducati!
After the discovery in the pre-season tests and in those of the beginning of the week, the Althea team worked on the first developments of a project still to be written. Starting from FP2, the working group began to put together all the solutions analyzed in the previous sessions. A little traffic and some uncertainty deprived the team of a more satisfying lap score but there are still many possibilities for further improvements. With so many competitive riders and so many bikes to discover, saturday will begin to give the first responses.
Today is all in all positive as we tried many little things that made us improve. They didn’t affect our lap times but they helped us put together solutions that we will work on tomorrow.
In the second session we missed the chance to do a good lap but we got close to the leaders anyway.
The tests on monday and tuesday helped us to get to today’s set-up, which is closer to racing conditions. The bike is a blank sheet to write on but even if we are starting from a standard condition, we are already at a good point and we hope to get even better prepared for the race.
From the regulations point of view, we will know if we are penalized only faceing the duration of the race, but as a first impact it seems that we will have to suffer. We hope that these results will help the organizers to create the right balance also because the current one seems to be disadvantageous.
As for Federico, I think his approach is the right one, considering the lack of experience on this bike and the fact that there are so many competitive riders.
Anyway the first day is a good one, but tomorrow we hope to do even better, despite the fact that twenty minutes for a qualifying session are a bit short. We are used to collecting data and working on them. We will follow the same procedure.
