WEST POINT, Ga. (Oct. 17, 2020) – Kelly Carlisle scored twice to lead the Point University women’s soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Appalachian Athletic Conference member Bluefield College Saturday at River Bowl Stadium.
Carlisle scored her second and third goals of the season nearly halfway through each half. Her first goal came in the 27th minute from the top left of the box with assists from Keiry Bonilla and Carmen Kager. Her second goal came in the 76th minute off assists again by Bonilla and Kager. Kager found Bonilla downfield, who was able to feed the ball to Carlisle inside the box.
The Skyhawks outshot the Rams 32-6 and forced Bluefield’s defense to make 17 saves. Nine Skyhawk’s made shot attempts, with Carlisle leading the way at eight, five on goal. Kager followed her with six shots, five on goal, Vanessa Lara with six, two on goal and Bonilla with five shot attempts, three on goal.
With Saturday’s win, the Skyhawk’s record moves to 1-2-1 on the season. Up next, the Skyhawks travel to Brenau University for another AAC matchup on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 5:30 p.m.
