VALLEY, Ala. (Nov. 20, 2020) – The Point University swimming program hosted Thomas University in a dual meet Friday afternoon at the Valley Alabama Community Center to finish out the 2020 portion of their season. The men won while the women finished second behind Thomas.
On the men’s side
The men finished with a score of 479 and had several first-place finishes to highlight the day. William Scarborough and Zavian Drake brought in the most points for the Skyhawks with 53 and 52 points apiece. Scarborough earned first-place finishes in the 100 and 200 breaststroke to earn 20 points for each event. Xavier Philips and Jaxon Kite earned first-place finishes in the 500 free and the 50 free, respectively.
For the women
The women’s team brought in 239 points, with Nica Pretorius leading the way with 33 points. Pretorius brought in 17 points from the 500 free, and Angela Guidry brought in 17 points from the 100 backstroke. Thomas University narrowly defeated the women’s team as they finished with 264 points.
With the fall slate finished, Point will begin preparing for the spring portion of the season, which is currently scheduled to start January 15-16 at the Viking Invitational at Berry College.
