Ilocos Norte’s grandest festival gets bigger, better

(AGENPARL) – Manila (Philippines), sab 12 gennaio 2019 LAOAG CITY, Jan. 12 (PIA) – Now on its 8th year, Ilocos Norte’s most anticipated cultural dance showdown is happening once again on Feb. 2.
Dubbed as Tan-ok ni Ilocano Festival of Festivals, the event aims to feature the grandeur, richness in history, and glory of Ilocos Norte all throughout its more than 200 years of existence.
Performers from various towns and cities in the province are now in full preparation in showcasing the greatness of their culture and history.
“As of the moment, the different contingents are all busy with their presentations as we are trying to make it grand every year,” Ilocos Norte Tourism (INTO) Operations Officer Aianree Raquel revealed.
To pull more locals and millennials in appreciating Ilocos Norte, INTO is planning to upload online the rich history of each town and city.
Similar to the past performances, every representative will present a historical background of their festival dance.
With the effort to infuse artistic production, the tourism office urges the contingents to gear toward adding up innovative effects and arts in their overall production design.
Governor Imee Marcos has cited this festival as one of the most admired and emulated events across the country.
This Ilocano festival is held in honor of the patroness of Ilocos Norte, La Virgen Milagrosa de Badoc. (JNPD/MJTAB/PIA-1/Ilocos Norte)
