PRESCOTT, Ariz. – Despite all of the changes over the last few years and last six months, one constant has remained for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) and that is their continued relationship with Nackard Pepsi.
“Nackard Pepsi and the Nackard family have been extremely supportive of Embry-Riddle and the athletics program over the years,” Director of Athletics Jaime Long said. “Their financial and marketing support allows us to create a fun atmosphere during game day and assist with marketing initiatives in athletics.”
This is the fourth year that the family owned and operated business has contributed to the Athletic Department. As a proud Northern Arizona business Nackard is a partner of four other Northern Arizona colleges including other Prescott native, Yavapai College.
When asked what the interest was in Embry-Riddle’s athletic department, Greg Cox, Director of Capabilities mentioned two things in particular, hard work and dedication.
“We appreciate the hard work and dedication of the Embry-Riddle student athletes as they compete in challenging sports while completing rigorous academic programs.” Cox commented.
Nackard Pepsi has been in business for over 75 years, and originally started as a Nesbitt and Dr. Pepper franchise. In 1943 that changed when founder Fred Nackard parted ways with Dr. Pepper and bought a Pepsi franchise while still in boot camp for WWII!
Over the years the Nackard family has provided great service to the vastly different Northern Arizona landscape compared to the metropolitan areas of Phoenix and Tucson. ERAU presents another avenue for Nackard Pepsi to connect and serve the people of Yavapai County.
One thing can be assured, that whenever ERAU can bring back fans to their events, Nackard Pepsi will be there.
